Mission
Provide health care with efficiency, quality, in a timely manner and at socially affordable costs, to the population in its area of ​​influence, and to all citizens in general; to develop high quality teaching as a Nuclear Hospital of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Beira Interior (Protocol No. 11/2001, published in Diário da República, II Series of April 16, 2001); and participate in undergraduate and graduate education, in collaboration with the Higher Schools of Nursing and Higher Schools of Health Technology, providing excellent teaching in the various areas of healthcare provision.

Vision
CHUCB is a unit of the Portuguese National Health Service that is a modern and innovative hospital unit, being a reference institution in providing excellent health care to populations residing in the municipalities of Covilhã, Fundão, Belmonte and Penamacor.

Based on its principles and values, which are disseminated among its employees, CHUCB assumes itself as a reference institution, for the quality of its clinical practices and as an integrated center for the provision of care and the promotion of skills, in the research and teaching of health sciences.

The continuous work for quality aims to contribute to “an institution of reference at a regional and national level, for the quality in the provision of healthcare and for its contribution to research and education in the area of ​​health“.
