Institution Description

AIBILI – Association for Innovation and Biomedical Research on Light and Image is a Research Technology Organisation in the health area dedicated to the development and clinical research of new products for medical therapy and diagnostic imaging. It is a private non-profit organisation, founded in 1989, established to support translational research and technology transfer in the health area.
AIBILI's goals are focused on converting basic knowledge into innovative applications to promote the improvement in healthcare opportunities and human well-being.

AIBILI provides multidisciplinary services in the development of clinical studies, from the development of protocols, their execution, coordination, data development and management, publication of results, market access and safety monitoring of new technologies. AIBILI is, therefore, a reference partner in the clinical research innovation in European, collaborating with academic institutions and industry in order to facilitate the introduction in the market new diagnostics tools, innovative biomarkers and new therapeutic options.
Additionally, AIBILI has its own innovation, which stands out in the development of biomarkers in ophthalmology, as well as in the areas of automatic image analysis and artificial intelligence with application in preventive diagnosis and personalized medicine.

Clinical research is performed in accordance with ICH - Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines and national and European regulatory requirements. AIBILI is also certified by ISO 9001:2015 for all its activities.
AIBILI is the Coordinating Centre of EVICR.net - European Vision Institute Clinical Research Network, which is a network of 95 Centres from 17 countries.
